Various Guilford College Organizations are providing student-artists opportunities to show their work in the upcoming weeks.
First of all, the College bookstore is holding a T-shirt design contest for which the grand prize is a $150 bookstore gift certificate and the second place award is a $50 bookstore gift certificate. Designs can implement a maximum of three colors and must occupy a 10” x 10″ space. Photography, digital art, and all other 2D mediums are acceptable, but the image must incorporate “Guilford College.” Submissions should be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by 5:00 pm on Monday, October 31st. Include your name, phone number, e-mail address, and affiliation with the school.
The Annual student art show is also approaching, and the deadline for submissions is noon on November 2nd. Students can enter a maximum of three pieces, but each piece must have been created within the past year. An entry form (available from art faculty) for each submission is required. Submit paintings and drawings to Adele Wayman, prints and drawings to Roy Nydorf, sculptures and 3D designs to Mark Dixon, ceramics to Charlie Tefft, and photographs and digital art to Maia Dery.
The Greenleaf Review, Guilford’s literary magazine, is now calling for submissions as well. Send your prose, poetry, and art to email@example.com by the end of the semester.
