This past Sunday Cade Martin and his crew were on campus shooting a spread for September’s issue of Design Bureau Magazine. The sculpture studio was their home base where the models and props were painted before heading out to the Dougherty sculpture to take the shots. (photo credits Terry Hammond.)
Charlie Tefft fired a gas kiln filled with his work. Student’s gathered to marvel at the pots as the ceramicist and his father unload the kiln.
The hallway gallery has been hung, stop by and see some woodcut prints from Roy Nydorf’s class.
Hannah Fillingim has a color drawing up in the painting studio.
An unfortunate event happened in the kiln yard early Wednesday morning. A piece for Tara’s thesis blew up in the wood kiln. The community came together with support and helped unload and reload the kiln, which gave everyone the opportunity to see their pieces mid-firing, covered in ash. The firing has been rescheduled for next week.
