Paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture covering a span of forty years of artistic output will be displayed in Professor of Art Roy Nydorf’s mid-career retrospective at the Greensboro Cultural Arts Center. An opening reception will be held Thursday, April 19, 5:30-8:00 p.m.
Nydorf is only the sixth artist in the 37-year history of the Green Hill Center to hold the honor of a solo exhibition in the 7000 square foot exhibition space. The exhibition will be accompanied with a 36-page color catalogue including essays by exhibition curator Edie Carpenter, and Guilford alumnus Christopher Benfey ’77, Mellon Professor of English and Acting Dean of Faculty at Mount Holyoke College, and color reproductions of 25 works of art. Numerous related educational activities have been planned in conjunction with the exhibition including:

by Roy and his wife, Terry Hammond ‘81, featuring photos from the couple’s ten trips to Italy showing the Tuscan inspirations of Roy’s art. Tuscan-themed appetizers, prepared by Mary Lacklen, will accompany the event!
